How To Setup Your Own Article Directory And Get Flooded With Sales, Leads & Commissions!

Its hardly a secret anymore. Creating articles and submitting them to article directories is now recognised as efficient, main stream marketing.

Thousands of smart marketers actively seek out directories and submit to them daily as part of their marketing plan. Flip open any generic internet marketing book and you’ll see entire chapters on promoting via article submissions. In fact entire eBooks, courses and software have been developed to help harness the power of article marketing.

Now here’s the interesting thing. Everyone who uses articles hungrily seeks out new article directories to submit to. Most internet marketing sites have a list of directories on their site to help their users identify available article directories.

Imagine- thousands of people searching for article directories. Countless more searching for content to populate their websites with. Yet the number of article directories online remains relatively small. Right now is the ideal time to set up an article directory for yourself.

Here are just a few ways that this can benefit your business:

* Literally tens of thousands of influential site owners are looking for valuable content that they can use for their sites. It’s gold-dust to them. Similarly, several thousands of marketers, authors, resellers and affiliates are hungrily looking for article directories to submit to. Both are desperate to find, use and return to your article directory…again and again (and again)!

* Your directory site could have Adsense and other affiliate ads and create a nice hands off residual income.

* You can capture the prospects as leads(eg. Contributers need to register before posting articles) to build your list.

* You can create special highly targeted niche article directories. You could put up highly targeted big-ticket affiliate products that can increase your commission checks significantly. If you already have an in-house product you can promote it directly on your directory to prospects that you know will be interested in the offer.

* You could even create and sell directories as a business in itself. When you have the correct script it’s very simple to do, yet one simple directory can fetch hundreds of dollars when sold to a small business or entrepreneur who may not want to learn to do it themselves.

If you think that setting up your own article directory involves extreme expense in hiring a programmer or special technical skills to do it yourself, you may be pleasantly surprised. You can use point and click software to get your directory up and running in just minutes.

Now we’ll look at the art of marketing the article directories that you create. The good thing is that because directories are in such demand this should not be particularly difficult. Here are just some of the ways you can publicise your directory:

* Participate in relevant forums and leave your article directory details in your signature. This is also a great way of getting exposure for your main business too.

* Contact influential personalities in your niche and inform them that you have a new article directory that they (and their prospects) may find interesting.

* Find “article directory directories” and submit to these - they will give you exposure to thousands of people who are searching for specific directories.

* Use your own traffic resources - let your list/blog/forum know that you have a new directory.

* You should already know that building a successful business online means cultivating relationships online. Hopefully you will have built up a select few JV partners who you are on exceptionally good terms with. Ask them to post a few articles to get your directory going.

One thing is clear- using article submissions as a marketing tactic is a long term trend that will be around long into the future. So is using contents of articles to populate website. Everyone wants to be where the traffic is - that’s exactly why the next big trend that the gurus will tout as a marketing gem is article directory ownership - and they would be dead right.

There are huge gains to be made by establishing your directory now long before anyone finds out what a gold mine they represent.

Why Your Network Marketing Efforts Are Failing

About once a week, I get someone struggling to build an
on-line network marketing business come to me for advice.
They want me to take a look at their website, and how they
are doing business, and tell them WHAT they’re doing wrong.
They want suggestions on how to grow their business faster.

Let’s begin by acknowledging that network marketing is
nothing new. It’s just telling acquaintances and prospects
about products and services that you use and like. This is
something that you do everyday. You enjoy sharing great
discoveries with those you care about. The twist is that
network marketing companies have formalized the referral
system and compensates you for those referrals.

There is something KEY in the above definition that points
to the first reason many I advise are struggling. Many people
promote businesses that they don’t honestly believe in. They
don’t honestly believe that those whom they introduce to the
opportunity will benefit. Therefore, it feels like a SCAM to them
… since it is, according to their OWN definition, a scam…
and that very subtle message is conveyed in their every
communication.

People communicate on many different levels. Our body
language, and even our “tone” in our emails, says a lot more
than most of us realize. If you want to get scientific about
it, we’re electro-magnetic creature who do give off electrical
vibrations that others can sense. When you promote something
that you don’t honestly feel good promoting, you give off bad
vibes… you produce bad karma that others pick up on.

Have you ever noticed that some people “make the hair on the
back of your neck stand up?” You’re picking up and responding
physically to a very powerful communication. Don’t ignore it!

The simple solution to the whole problem described above is to
not promote anything (whether it’s network marketing or using
other methods of marketing) that doesn’t positively impact
everyone concerned! There are a lot of great products and
services out there that do just that. I’ll share with you a
personal example…

If you’ve read my background, you’ll know that I am a literal
welfare to riches success story. I grew up so poor that at times
we’d run out of kerosene to heat the house in the winter, and
we’d go without heat until our next government subsistence
check arrived. Growing up in that environment with my
grandmother and two younger brothers, I didn’t learn proper
money management. I had no role models!

Naturally, when I discovered an on-line service that taught me
that missing skill, and prevented me from squandering my
growing wealth, I eagerly shared this with others that I knew
needed this critical knowledge. There are so many people who
don’t know how to make money work FOR them. I now feel very
good sharing that knowledge with others from my website at:
http://www.eliteteammarketing.com/81309/

Take a few minutes and study that website! It’s incredibly
well-structured and works great. It doesn’t have any of the
problems I see with the websites that my clients struggle with.

If you have any of these common problems on your website
you need to correct them immediately. If you can’t correct them,
then you need to build you own website rather than using the
company-provided website. If the company won’t let you create
your own site, then you need to find another company since the
one you’re with is PREVENTING you from succeeding. Here
are the common website errors we observe:

1) No clear explanation of what the website or business is
about. Internet surfers are very impatient and if they can’t
figure out what the site’s about in a few seconds, many will
simply click away.

2) Forms asking for contact information without telling them
what you’re going to do with their information. People aren’t
going to give you their phone number and address, or even
email address unless they know that they’re only going to
get information they want to receive. You have to sell them
on the value - the “What’s In It For Me?” - of having you
follow up with them. You also have to assure them that you
respect and will protect their private data.

People understand that you’re asking for their contact
information so that you can follow-up. Clearly tell them how
you’re going to follow-up and why they want you to do this.
Explain precisely what benefit is in it for them?

3) No indication of who, or WHAT, is behind the site. Your
website should have very clear contact information on it. A
name, email address, phone number, and if practical a
physical address should be on the site. Letting people see
that there is a real person behind the site is what builds that
essential trust. A photo on the site further builds the
connection and lets them see that a real, ordinary person
runs the business.

4) Proof that what the site says is true. Your making a
statement does not provide proof. Others saying it, does provide
some “proof.” So you need testimonials and statements from a
variety of people verifying and validating all of your
assertions. These testimonials should have name, company, city
and state, website url, etc. Vague testimonials with only a set of
initials merely create suspicion. A testimonial with a photo is
even more credible.

5) An understandable explanation of the compensation
plan. I’m a college graduate with about 20 years of FORMAL
schooling. Many of the websites that I read leave me totally
CLULESS as to how I would get paid and how much. If your
explanation or illustrations of your “payment plan” leave
people confused, it will also leave them unsure. This is
another area where, if the company provided website doesn’t
“cut it,” then you need to create you own.

Take another look at how clearly things are explained at:

frequently featured on television, in magazines and newspapers

After you’ve looked at the company, product or service, and
website, then you need to look at your follow-up. This is one
of those things that the Internet allows you to do easier by
allowing you to automate much of it. Autoresponders are
my favorite tool there, although not the only one.

You also need to incorporate email, chat, an interactive website,
and YES even using the phone. Do all of these things right
and your business is guaranteed to succeed. Do many of these
things wrong, and it’s guaranteed to fail.

Use the tips in this article as a checklist - today. Just do a
point-by-point review. It’s critical to your business survival!
For some, it will clearly show why your network marketing
efforts are failing!

How To’s For A Successful In-Studio Raido Interview

Although most of you will be doing radio interviews by phone, if you’re on a tour or happen to land in interview in your city or one nearby, you may be asked to come into the studio. For most of you, this prospect is exponentially more frightening than interviewing from your own home or office, but it doesn’t have to be. Following are some tips to calm you down.

1. The more you know in advance about the specifics of the interview, the well-prepared you’ll be. Ask the producer or host the following: How long will the interview be? How many people will I be talking to in the studio? Will you take listener phone calls? When will you take commercial breaks and how long will they be?

2. You will be set up with a microphone. When you’re asked for a mic check, speak with the same volume you’ll use in the interview and find out how close or far away you should be from the mic while talking.

3. Most of the time you’ll be set up with a headphone so you can hear callers, the producer, the call screener and/or the host. Make sure you’re comfortable with the headphone volume and ask how it can be adjusted during the interview if necessary.

4. Ask if a “cough” button is available. If it is, ask how to use it.
5. Ask in advance if the interview can be taped for you. If so, offer to bring in your own blank cassette or CD and have it ready.

6. If more than one host or another guest is in the studio, look at whoever is talking to you, but don’t forget to keep your mouth by the mic so you won’t lose volume.

7. Ask for a cup of water-you may need it. Sometimes beverages are not allowed in the studio-in that case be sure to have a drink of water or a lozenge before you go on the air to keep you from clearing your throat.

8. Ask where the restroom is before the interview. Do not leave the studio during commercial breaks unless you’re told you have enough time before you must go back on the air.

9. Always assume the mic is on, even during commercial breaks. Never say anything off the air that you wouldn’t say over the air. Many a person has been caught making an “off air” comment because they had no idea they were actually still on the radio

10. Do not bring another person with you unless they’re part of the interview or you’ve asked in advance. To do otherwise is highly unprofessional.

Above all, relax and don’t be afraid to ask anything you don’t know. Everyone there wants you to sound your best and will do whatever it takes to help you do that.

The Million Dollar Real Estate Lead Question: Why Don’t I Get More Real Estate Leads?

Every Realtor I have ever met and/or worked with wants to get more real estate leads. Better leads… More responsive real estate leads.

What is the best way to make that happen?

It isn’t more networking…

It isn’t traversing the neighborhood knocking on doors…

It isn’t SEO (search engine optimization)…

It isn’t chaining yourself to the phone and making cold calls from morning
until night…

It isn’t more signs, postcards or flyers…

It isn’t even the internet or any other technology…

The answer to getting more real estate leads is this:

“Find a starving crowd and give them food.”

That will get you real estate leads by the hundreds.

Once you get the “food” that your prospects are dying to eat, that is when the
search engine optimization, Google Adwords, email campaigns, direct mail and
other marketing devices come into play. Those are the tools you use to deliver the
“food.”

So what is this magic “food?”

It’s your U.S.P. - your Unique Selling Proposition or Unique Sales Position.

Basically, it is what makes you different from every other Realtor in your
market.
It is the reason why people should work with you and not the next Realtor that
comes along.

It sounds simple, but most Realtors out there are running their business without a
real U.S.P. If you don’t have one, you run the risk of quickly becoming a commodity,
and that is not a fun thing to be.

I am sure my clients are somewhat puzzled when we begin working together,
because they expect me to jump in and optimize their website or give help writing
their next ad or increase the profitability of their Google Adwords campaign.

Most times, however, the bulk of the work we do at the beginning is on marketing
fundamentals.

That is the hard work. That is also the smart work. It is the most leveraged work
any real estate professional can do to generate more leads.

Once you get the fundamentals straight, however, using tools like your website,
autoresponders, email campaigns, online press releases and search engine
optimization become much, much more effective and profitable.

So take the time you need to define your U.S.P so that it is crystal clear to both you
and your prospects. Your U.S.P may come quickly or it may take you a few weeks of
thinking to come up with the best one.

Here’s a question to help you get started. Answer this and you will be off to a great
start:

“Why should people do business with you vs. any and EVERY other option
available to them?”

Now after reading this newsletter, you might say to yourself, “This is common
sense… Everybody knows this…”

If you look at the bank accounts of those who “know” what to do and then take a
look at the bank accounts of those who take that knowledge and act on it, you will
see quite a difference. The world rewards doers.

So don’t wait another minute to get started.

Top 10 Tools to TurboCharge Your Marketing

Most business owners hate the entire marketing process. I find marketing to be an energizing exercise to showcase my creativity, however, and enjoy it — when I do it. However, I fall into the same trap as millions of other small business owners — I’m so busy with clients (my profit-generating days) that I often push aside my marketing (my business development days).

So, to aid me in my marketing efforts, I try and “get the most bang for the buck” out of what I actually end up doing — and try to do that with a minimal amount of effort. These are 10 tools that I use in my marketing efforts that help me turbocharge my marketing:

1. Assessment Generator: Like to create an interactive survey or assessment that will help your visitor learn something about his/her life or business? With Assessment Generator, you can create online assessments that you can post to your website to increase your traffic and attract more clients. http://www.profcs.com/app/aftrack.asp?afid=256129&u=www.assessmentgenerator.com

2. AudioAcrobat: AudioAcrobat makes audio streaming fast and simple, whether you want to add an audio greeting or audio testimonials to your website or send out an audio postcard or record a teleclass. http://dgunter.audioacrobat.com/

3. Ezine Director: Ezine Director is a great service for creating, mailing and reporting back on the success of your newsletter. I love to be able to see how many readers opened my newsletter, who opened the newsletter, and what links they clicked on from the newsletters. EzineDirector offers the service free of charge if you send out less than 249 emails per month. http://www.ezinedirector.com?affiliate_id=250924

4. FreeAudioConferencing.com: Ever need to meet with colleagues, associates or even family members at a distance but don’t want to do it face-to-face? A teleconference bridge line can bring up to 100 people together at one place over a teleconference phone line. You can also conduct classes and training this way. And best of all, it’s free! www.freeaudioconferencing.com

5. Google News Alerts - Need a quick way to find out who’s talking about you online? Want to know on what sites your content might end up? Need to discover what your competitors are up to? Google Alerts let you type in an unlimited number of search terms, like your name, your company name, your industry, the name of your competitors, etc. Google will then deliver an email alert for any mention of your search term online. This is a wonderful way to track your own PR as well as industry trends. http://www.google.com/alerts

6. Kickstart Cart: Kickstart Cart is easy to use and setup, and offers the ability to create affiliate programs, follow up with prospective and current customers with autoresponders, create coupons for limited-time offers, as well as enable buyers to immediately download electronic purchases (ebooks, audio files). There is a free 30-day trial, but don’t sign up until you have the time to test drive it–30 days goes by fast! http://www.kickstartcart.com/app/?pr=31&id=59401

7. Press Release Distribution Services: A well-written press release about a new development in your company can earn you great amounts of free publicity, at little or no cost! I use the services that distribute the releases at no cost, and several of them offer a low-cost upgrade ($10-$30) to expand the reach of your release. To see the listing of the free services that I use, visit http://www.onlinebizcoachingcompany.com/resources.htm

8. Submit Your Article: If you’ve ever tried to manually submit your articles to article directories, you’ll find it to be a time-consuming task. SubmitYourArticle.com automates this process by allowing you to submit up to four articles each month and then distributes the articles to hundreds of web sites, article directories and ezine publishers. I’ve just started using this service, and I’m already seeing results! http://www.submityourarticle.com

9. SalesLetter Generator: Need to create a quick one page website for a special program or product you’re offering? I often need to do this, but need a bit of help in writing the content. Salesletter Generator asks you a series of questions about what you’re offering, and when you’ve answered the questions, generates a one page sales letter in HTML that you can post immediately! It saves me lots of time and energy–much easier than trying to determine how to write this on my own! http://www.ebookgenerator.com/cmd.php?Clk=1227194

10. Typepad: I’ve tried out several blogging software services, and Typepad is the one that I found to be both simple to use and powerful. You can set up as many blogs as you desire with a Pro account, and you can customize your blog in an infinite number of ways. You can also password-protect your blog and use it as a client-only portal to share info and files with your client base. http://www.typepad.com

Are Private Label Rights Your Best Opportunity for Internet Marketing in 2006?

Ask 100 Internet marketers what their top money-making idea is and you will probably get 200 different answers (most IM’ers can’t resist a fall-back plan!). But there is one ‘concept’ that really seems to have come of age in late 2005 and is set to explode into 2006 with all guns blazing - private label rights.

Up until very recently, ‘private label rights’ was something that few people talked about and fewer still understood. The idea of selling your work so that someone else could not just resell it, but put change it any way they liked and even put their own name on it seemed crazy.

And yet, private label rights ebooks have been quietly selling through specialized membership sites and a select few people have been making good money from them.

Most people are familiar and comfortable with the idea of resale rights - where the owner of a book sells you the rights to sell it for yourself and keep all the profits. After all, that is only one step removed from traditional affiliate selling. But private label rights go so much further - effectively giving the private label rights purchaser carte blanche to do whatever they like with the materials.

Where do private label ebooks come from?

In the main, the ebooks for which private label rights are sold tend to be specially commissioned and written by ghost writers. They are targeted at highly specific niche markets that the originator has researched.

With a few exceptions, they tend to be fairly basic, workmanlike books that fulfil a market need, but that are not likely to set the world on fire.

They tend not to be earth-shattering best-sellers that divulge great secrets and that can command huge affiliate and joint venture networks.

That is not to say that private label rights ebooks are worthless - far from it. They fill a great need because they tend to be written to answer one specific set of questions within a well- searched niche market. As a result, if marketed correctly, they can make steady sales.

Going beyond the virtual covers.

The real benefit of private label rights ebooks comes from the fact that you can do whatever you like with them.

It means that if you are clever, the book you end up selling will be completely different to everyone else’s. Instead of being in competition with 500 other people who happen to have bought the same private label rights as you have, by exercising your right to change the content, reorder the chapters, add new sections, add illustrations and pictures, create a new cover, change the name of the author and create a compelling new title, you can ensure that your version of the book is totally unique.

And of course, selling a private label ebook as an ebook is just one possible use for the material!

In my book ‘Unlock the Secrets of Private Label eBooks’ I have identified ELEVEN different ways that you can profit from your private label rights ebook’s contents! Several of those strategies have nothing to do with ebooks at all.

The big secret that sets the professionals apart.

While it is true that there are a few professionals who are raking in great returns from their private label rights investments, the sad fact is that the vast majority of people who, up until now, have bought private label ebooks have left all their money on the table. They have either done nothing with the ebooks that they have access to, or have simply used them as they are provided.

And while this passive majority is standing around doing nothing, the professionals are busy digging the gold from the mine that each private label ebook represents.

Instead of looking at private label ebooks as an end in themselves, see them as the beginning. Each ebook can be the core of a great unique product, the content of highly targeted and search-engine friendly website, the beginning of your own unique Internet marketing empire.

For an enlightened few, private label ebooks will be the big thing in 2006. The potential is huge - why not join with us now!

Martin Avis is the author of the best-selling ‘Unlock the Secrets of Private Label eBooks’ - your complete blueprint to private label
rights success.

A Website Without Online Marketing: A Fruitless Tree

Nowadays, many people save money to quit their day jobs in hopes of achieving their own customized version of the American Dream by starting what is commonly known as an e-commerce business or a “dot com” venture. They then proceed to spend the savings of their labor on great looking, functional and hopefully practical websites. However, a large percentage of such venturesome warriors that take the initiative to quit a steady job and embark on the bumpy road of e-”self employment” do not end up reaping the fruits of their courage.

The initial phases of website development both financially and emotionally drain the average venturous individual to a point that at the end of the process they are impatiently waiting for miraculous profit to be pouring their way. In reality, this seldom happens since there are thousands of such individuals both from the past and the present on the very same path striving to prosper. In order for a website to be profitable, it would have to contend in the race for traffic against hundreds of thousands, or even millions of competitors.

It is possible to attract visitors to your website via countless means however the best and the most efficient are what have been rounded up under the roof of Online Marketing. Online or Internet Marketing addresses the concerns of all those website owners that are astounded at the low returns on their investments. It helps strategize a plan to increase the popularity and traffic of the website and tackle the issues of low profits. The most important aspects of Internet Marketing are as follows:

  • Spreading the Word: Since other online venues require a relatively longer initial period of time to yield results, it is quick and efficient to spread the word about your website via submitting articles and news releases to be published. An informative and useful article will intrigue other website owners to syndicate the article hence exposing your website to the visitors of their own websites. On the other hand a carefully prepared news release if published at the right time will drive major media publishers to run stories on your website which in turn will expose your website to a very wide base of potential visitors and in turn converted customers.
  • Networking: Propagating the word about your website is a great way to jumpstart your internet marketing campaign, however you need stability from within to be able to sustain your website’s popularity. By partnering or simply having a relationship with websites in and out of your industry you will be able to increase your website link base and provide a one-stop solution for your visitors. You can achieve this by being an active participant in online forums, chat sessions and even seminars not to mention offline venues such as business mixers and conferences.
  • Search Engines: Once you have created an initial surge of visitors via press releases and worked on networking to maintain your traffic, your website will be seasoned and ready to benefit from a very precious medium that lets targeted visitors come to you rather than you going after them. Search engines are inundated with searchers looking for products and services in virtually every single industry and category imaginable. By using keyword popularity tools you can find out approximately how many people search for keywords relevant to your website on a daily basis. Once you find the keywords that would bring valuable visitors to your website, then you can target them by optimizing your website. This process is referred to as Search Engine Optimization which will be discussed in much more detail in future articles.
  • Refining the User Interface: Refining the User Interface is certainly one of the most ignored yet extremely important aspects of owning and operating a website. You can be getting hundreds of unique visitors on a daily basis to your website yet making less profit than a direct competitor of yours with half the traffic. The secret lies in your user interface consisting of elements such as forms, navigation, contents, links, buttons, customization, localization and more. By using these elements in the correct places and at the correct time and constantly monitoring your visitor retention and conversation rates, you can not only increase your conversation ratio and therefore your profit but also maintain a larger visitor base potentially creating word of mouth and return business.

The above are the main areas in which you have to be active in order for your online marketing campaign to be successful. However it is sometimes not possible to achieve the best results in all areas without rigorous research and extensive training. This is where internet marketing firms come to your help in devising and implementing a successful campaign. Internet Marketing is virtually the only way to turn your investment of time, patience and money into measurable profit that could get you closer to achieving your goals and fulfilling your dreams. This is why I invite you to read my future articles where I will be providing more detailed information on each of the above categories as well as information on how to find do-it-yourself information and shop for internet marketing services.

Don’t feel like you are giving away your secrets; instead, realize that you are accelerating your downline.

Give Tools
Any tool you find, whether it’s a free eBook, a link to a good web site, a vendor for inexpensive print materials or even a sales letter that you have had success with can be very beneficial to your downline members. Quality tools will inspire your team members and give them creative ideas for their own techniques and tools.

I know of a very successful internet marketer that gives a free website to the people in his downline; he has built a very successful team of motivated associates by setting up small sites for his team members and showing them how to attract visitors. I have also heard of people directing opt-in email leads to their high performance team members as incentives. Ideas like these may seem advanced, but an accelerated downline is a quality investment, right?

Check Up on Your Team
From time to time, send out an email to your team that asks for feedback about how you can assist them. If you don’t already maintain a mailing list for your downline then you should start building one now.

Send out messages with new tips, techniques, ideas, praises and anything that you think might be helpful to them. This will let your members know that you are there and that you care.

Conclusion
A powerful downline is one of your most important assets in multi-tier business; keep your team up to date with powerful tips and tools.

I’ve given you a starting point; take these thoughts and get creative. Put these ideas to work for your self and share this article with your team members; their accelerated downline is your accelerated downline.

Do’s and Don’ts for the Internet Marketing Newbie (Part 1)

I, myself, being an internet marketing “newbie” (endearing term used to refer to people who have just started their own internet business and don’t know what the —- they are doing) have learned a few things and would like to share my observations, tribulations, and triumphs with my fellow “newbies”. In sharing my experiences I hope I can help you avoid some of the pitfalls and obstacles you will face. Let’s try to avoid some of those “Information Overload” headaches as well. I don’t want you to walk through the same mud puddle if I can point it out and help you avoid it.

First, in the article which is Part 1, I will list some important “DO’s”. Part 2 will cover the DON’Ts.

Do take your time, one step at a time. Do understand that building your business is not something than can be done in a matter of days, not even months in most cases. It’s going to take time, lots of time.

Do practice Patience! I know it’s not one of my virtues either and it’s really hard to put into practice, but to save your sanity, try to be patient!

Do understand in the beginning you will be suffocated with so much information and resources your head will hurt (that’s where the Information Overload headache comes from) and you will not know which direction to take first. You’ll just be spinning your wheels if you try to go off into 20 different directions at once. Remember, concentrate on one thing at a time!

Do use your best judgment when weeding through all of the information. Throw away the obvious hype and keep what you feel is resourceful and useful.

Do make it a goal to accomplish one task each day. Later when you can handle it add one or two more tasks. Progress slowly.

Do look for free resources, there’s plenty out there on the internet to help you build and promote your business. There’s also a lot of hype and misinformation and just plain bad information, so definitely use number 4.

Do join some good internet marketing forums. You will find a lot of advice and tips on how to promote your business. Many people there are also “newbies” and you can bounce ideas off of each other. Many will post what has worked or hasn’t worked for them. Learn from the internet marketing experts, they were in your shoes at one time, benefit from their experiences.

Do file and organize the information you receive for retrieval later on. Organize your email by creating folders to keep information categorized and easy to find. Keep a log in Microsoft Excel with all of your affiliate ID’s, affiliate URL’s, and memberships.

Do learn some basic HTML code. This will make it easier for you to change, delete, and make any additions to your website. If you don’t know how to add a link to your website then how will you exchange links with other websites to increase your search engine rankings. Go to http://www.htmlgoodies.com and take their basic HTML tutorial. Read my article titled “Why You Should Learn HTML” on my Articles and News page at http://www.profitfromhomebiz.com

Do realize that it’s going to take a lot of work and time to establish your business. Especially, a business on the internet. It’s not an auto-pilot business. You will probably spend more hours working at this business than you would a regular 9 to 5 job.

Chances are you are new to internet marketing, so study and learn as much as you can before you just jump in. Know what to expect and be prepared.

Do realize that having an internet business is just like having a business in the “real” world. You need to have a plan, you need to advertise, and you must have a budget.

Do download the “30 Days to Success” E-book written by Stone Evans. You can find a free copy on my website at http://www.profitfromhomebiz.com. You will need to provide your name and email address which will subscribe you to my Home Business Tips Newsletter (which is full of internet marketing tips and articles), and then you can download the E-book. It gives you a day by day guide on how to promote your business online. It’s an invaluable tool!

Do believe in yourself and your abilities. Believe in your success!

I divided this article into two parts so you would not fall asleep trying to read the whole article at once. Part 1 of this article has covered the DO’s for the internet marketing newbie. Part 2 of the article will cover the DON’Ts. Be on the lookout for the part 2!
