BT Business Total Broadband Fibre Launched
BT has unveiled BT Business Total Broadband Fibre, its new fibre-optic broadband service for business use, close on the heels of its first dedicated consumer fibre product, Infinity.
The new fibre broadband offering has download speeds up to 40MB and upload speeds up to 10MB and can be easily confused with their Infinity service. The major difference between these two services is that the BT Business Total Broadband Fibre user gets a higher priority during peak traffic hours.
The BT Business Total Broadband Fibre claims to be able to allow a consumer to use multiple high-end applications such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), business-grade cloud applications and even video conferencing simultaneously without any performance issues. BT said that this product would make working from home easy as staff could stay connected with their office at all times.
Nigel Stagg the Managing Director of BT Business said that the focus of the company for 2010 would be to roll out additional coverage and higher speeds. He also commented that about 25% of businesses were using high-speed broadband in an attempt to move more of their processes online and use technology that was bandwidth-dependant while 28%of businesses were using it to improve the capabilities of their websites. He assured them that they could count on BT to help them achieve their goals.
BT’s Business Total Broadband Fibre service would be available in four different options. The common factor would be that there would be a standard connection fee of £75 and all the options would include a BT Business Fibre Hub. The cost of the service would range between £30 and £50 with a contract period between 12 and 24months.
